When Kara came out of the Presidential Suite, she looked like a frostbitten sunflower, her shoulders drooping and her whole body wilted. Her usually sparkling blue eyes were clouded with tears and dejection.
She did not even dare look at Li Jie. With her head lowered, she murmured, "Clark wants to talk to you," in a voice barely louder than a mosquito's buzz, then hurried down the corridor along the wall, as though something were chasing her.

But to be fair, Superman really did have a great temperament. If it had been Batman, he probably would have already been clinging to a corner behind the curtains, watching you through those stark white eye lenses, then waited until you turned around and nearly pissed yourself before delivering that line.
"Okay! You can go get something to eat at the restaurant downstairs first." Li Jie gave her an encouraging gesture. "Go get those bitches!"
Kara managed a faint smile at him. Li Jie nodded, pushed open the door, and went inside.
Seeing him enter, Clark Kent rose from his chair. He seemed a little nervous, but his expression was gentle and firm.
"Jay," he said, adjusting the black-rimmed glasses on his nose, "we need to talk."
"Of course, Clark." Li Jie gestured for him to lead the way, and they sat down in the suite's living area. "Is Kara all right? You look like a parent who just confiscated every penny of her allowance."
"Uh... I didn't. Thank you, Jay. Thank you for everything you've done for Kara," Clark said earnestly. "But... you're being far too indulgent with her."
"What else am I supposed to do? I'm afraid she'll pinch my head off."
"No,
