"Sheriff, aren't you going in to watch the show?"

A sea of people crowded outside the Gotham Grand Theater, their clamor nearly lifting the roofs off the nearby buildings. Frenzied fans waved posters and glow sticks, surrounding the theater so tightly that no one could get through. Several police vehicles formed a circular cordon, barely maintaining order at the entrance.

Dressed in denim, Raven stood beside the Patrol Van and looked up at Li Jie, who had poked his head out of the driver's window.

"No, I'm not interested in those phony tricks." Li Jie shook his head. "Besides, I'm on duty. Have to stop dissatisfied audience members from demanding refunds and all that."

He waved to Anna and Harleen. "That's that. Take her inside, and contact me if anything comes up."

"Team C reporting. We've found several scalpers selling fake tickets. They've been detained."

"Team B reporting. Heavy crowd pressure at the east entrance. We need backup."

"Copy. Team D has been dispatched and is on the way."

He listened expressionlessly to the reports coming one after another over the radio, watching the three of them walk away, but a faint unease stirred inside him. Events this big were always breeding grounds for accidents. Besides, he knew Zatanna wasn't some stage magician. What she performed was real magic.

"Just don't cut someone's head off and fail to put it back, or summon something you can't handle."

As far as he remembered, few magic users were ever reliable. They acted on whatever whim struck them. With a crowd this size, any danger could trigger a mass stampede. That would be deadly.

Going by the time, the show should have started already?

"It's only just started. We're not too late."
