After years of research into and exposure to Honkai Energy, Mei's body had long since been eroded. On top of that, the enormous damage inflicted by the Key of Blankness during the Tenth Herrscher incident had left her body unable to endure much longer.
She had only lasted until now because of Su's medicine.

On her deathbed, Mei entrusted her final plan to Su: the Observer Plan, meant to prevent Kevin from destroying humanity and to restrain him if necessary.
As his partner, she understood her big boy all too well. It seemed that everything he had done in his life had been for her.
It was easy to imagine what her big boy would become after her death.
The Observer Plan was the final "shackle" she had prepared to keep her big boy from going astray.
After making her final arrangements, Mei passed away.
