"Technology?" Dr. Brief looked wary.
"Mr. Lin Chen, forgive my bluntness, but you already seem incredibly powerful. Earth's weapons..."
"No, Doctor, you misunderstand. Let me get straight to the point. Right now, I only need two pieces of technology: a Healing Device and a Gravity Room."
Dr. Brief froze. "A Healing Device? A Gravity Room?"
Lin Chen glanced around, then pointed to the garden outside. "Doctor, let's go over there. I have something to show you."
With that, Lin Chen headed toward the garden.
Dr. Brief was so wealthy that his garden alone was the size of a park.
Lin Chen found a patch of level ground and waved his right hand, taking a Healing Device he had brought from Planet Vegeta out of his System Space.
The Healing Device's appearance out of thin air left Dr. Brief dumbfounded.
"Th-this... Mr. Lin, how did you do that? Was it a Hoi-Poi Capsule?"
"No. Just think of it as a special ability of mine," Lin Chen said calmly.
Patting the Healing Device, Lin Chen said, "This is one of the Healing Devices we currently use. It can fully heal someone with severe injuries in a short time. Doctor, I need you to at least replicate it exactly and manufacture a hundred of them for us!"
"Once the Healing Devices are finished, I also need at least ten Gravity Rooms with adjustable artificial gravity. Our planet's gravity is ten times Earth's, so the rooms must be capable of reaching at least twenty times Earth's gravity."
"These things are crucial to us Saiyans! The Gravity Rooms can wait, but I hope you can finish all one hundred Healing Devices within a month."
Dr. Brief looked troubled. "Mr. Lin, considering that you saved our family and Tights, I can agree to these requests."
"But I've never worked with either Healing Devices or Gravity Rooms before. I don't even know whether I can actually build them."
Dr. Brief was indeed a genius who had invented all sorts of miraculous technology, but even a genius had his limits.
One of the things Lin Chen needed involved biotechnology, and the other involved gravity technology. Dr. Brief had never worked in either field, so he was rather unsure of himself.
Just then, a voice suddenly rang out. "Dad, if we already have a prototype Healing Device, it shouldn't take long to copy one. After that, we can just have robots mass-produce them!"
"Huh?"
Dr. Brief and Lin Chen turned to see Bulma running out from behind a tree.
The little girl studied the Healing Device Lin Chen had brought out with excitement, then smiled at her father as though hoping for praise.
"Really? Bulma, are you sure?" Dr. Brief asked, looking stunned.
"Yes! Oh, Lin Chen, do you have a working prototype of that Gravity Room you mentioned? If you do, I should be able to copy it quickly too. I've actually been researching antigravity systems lately..."
Dr. Brief gave Lin Chen a sheepish smile. "Sorry, Mr. Lin Chen. This is my daughter, Bulma. She may be young, but she's actually an even greater genius than I am."
"Is that so?" Lin Chen was not surprised by Dr. Brief's words. After all, Bulma could probably be considered the most intelligent character in the entire Dragon Ball world.
"Thank you, Bulma. You've been a huge help. If there's anything you wish for, just tell me. I can make it happen for you." Lin Chen smiled and patted her head.
At his touch, Bulma's pretty little face instantly flushed red.
"Um... Lin Chen, I just heard my sister say you can fly. Could you take me flying once?"
"That's all?"
"Mm-hmm!" Bulma nodded firmly.
"Dr. Brief, may I take Miss Bulma flying for a little while?" Lin Chen asked.
"Yes, yes. Please go ahead." Although Dr. Brief was a little worried, he did not dare refuse.
Lin Chen took Bulma's hand and flew straight into the air with her.
"Oh my gosh! Hahaha, I'm really flying! This is awesome!"
Bulma truly was Tights's sister. She was just as fearless about flying and instead began urging him on. "Lin Chen, can we go a little faster?"
"Of course."
Lin Chen drew Bulma close and held her in both arms, then began to accelerate.
With his ki protecting her, Bulma felt no discomfort, even though they surpassed the speed of a fighter jet in an instant.
Her little face was flushed, however. This flight had clearly left a deep impression of Lin Chen on her.
"Bulma, can we head back now?"
"No, Lin Chen! Can't we fly a little longer?"
"A little longer?" Lin Chen thought for a moment, then his eyes suddenly lit up.
"In that case, how about I take you to see Kami?"
"Kami? Where? Where? Is there really a god in this world?" Bulma looked around.
This world had legends of a god too. Although Bulma was a child genius, she was still curious about myths and legends.
"Yes. Just wait. I'll take you to see him right now!"
The places Lin Chen intended to take Bulma were Korin Tower and Kami's Lookout.
Both places were already on his planned itinerary.
Since he was taking Bulma sightseeing anyway, Lin Chen decided to move that part of his trip forward.
Korin Tower stood in a remote location, far from human civilization. Flying there from West City by plane would take at least several hours.
At Lin Chen's speed, however, the two soon spotted Korin Tower soaring into the clouds.
As they approached, Korin began trembling atop the tower. "Wh-what terrifying ki! How does that alien know about this place?"
Inside Kami's Lookout, Kami's green face also grew somewhat pale. "Could that alien have discovered me?"
"Wow!"
As Bulma stared at the distant tower, her jaw nearly dropped out of its socket.
She was an Earthling, after all, yet she had never known there was a place like this on Earth.
That tower had to be taller than the tallest building in the world, didn't it? Why had she never even heard of it?
"Lin Chen, is that where Kami lives?"
"That's Korin Tower, where an immortal lives. Kami's home is even higher up."
"Even higher?"
Bulma felt that today was almost too exciting. Not only had she met an alien, but she was about to meet an immortal and a god too.
Her little face was bright red with excitement.
A short while later, Lin Chen flew into the hall atop Korin Tower with Bulma.
"Lin Chen, where's the immortal? Where is he?"
The moment they landed, Bulma looked all around, completely overlooking the bewildered Korin standing nearby.
"Ahem!" Korin cleared his throat. "Excuse me, I'm the immortal."
"Huh?" Bulma exclaimed in shock. "Lin Chen, the cat talked!"
"He's not a cat. He's an immortal!"
