After a ripple through space, Jaco and Tights found that their surroundings had changed completely.
The three of them were no longer on Earth, but at Galactic Patrol Headquarters, a place Jaco knew all too well!
"What kind of magic is this? Amazing!" Jaco exclaimed.
"That's Lin Chen's Instant Transmission." Tights had already used Instant Transmission with Lin Chen several times, so she was used to it.
Lin Chen turned to Jaco with a smile. "Mr. Jaco, please take me to see the Galactic King."
"Lin Chen, you'd better not be planning anything underhanded. This is Galactic Patrol Headquarters! If you dare cause trouble, the Galactic Patrol won't let you get away with it," Jaco warned.
"Relax. I really am here to discuss working together."
Naturally, Lin Chen wouldn't act rashly. He remembered that the Galactic Patrol had an exceptionally powerful fighter hidden in its ranks: Merus, whose true strength was unknown!
The man was suspected to be an Angel on the same level as Whis. With Lin Chen's current strength, wouldn't causing trouble in front of him be asking for death?
The three of them then headed toward the Galactic King's office.
Along the way, many people were surprised to see Jaco back.
"Jaco, didn't you go to Earth?"
"You're back, Jaco? Where's your spaceship?"
"Jaco..."
Taking it all in, Tights said, "You're pretty popular, aren't you, Jaco?"
"Of course! I'm a super elite!"
Lin Chen wore a thoroughly unimpressed expression.
Before long, the three finally met the Galactic King.
Although Tights had known Jaco for years, this was her first time meeting his superior, and she was momentarily dumbfounded.
Unlike the Galactic King she had imagined, the real Galactic King was a green octopus-like being wearing a crown!
"Jaco, why are you back? Who are they?"
The Galactic King quickly noticed the strangers who had suddenly appeared. Jaco solemnly saluted him, then jogged over and whispered in his ear.
"S-Saiyan?" The Galactic King jumped in fright, his body beginning to tremble.
One of the guards beside him even began edging furtively toward a button in the room.
"Hm?"
Lin Chen suddenly shot the guard a glare, unleashing a restrained blast of force that knocked him straight to the floor.
"No need to be nervous, everyone. I may be a Saiyan, but I come with good intentions."
"W-what exactly do you want?" the Galactic King asked.
"Galactic King, I came here to offer the Saiyans' services to the Galactic Patrol," Lin Chen said.
The Galactic King froze at his words. "Offer us your services? What do you mean?"
Lin Chen then explained his plan.
Now that the Saiyans were under Lin Chen's control, they were forbidden from plundering or invading other planets.
But this also deprived the Saiyans of actual combat experience.
Battle power honed in a training room ultimately had its limits, and real combat was essential to breaking through them.
Since the Saiyans could no longer commit evil deeds, Lin Chen intended to have them follow the same path as the Saiyans of Universe 6 in the original story.
In that universe, the Saiyans made their living protecting other planets, taking jobs to deal with villains on their behalf.
Familiar with the original story, Lin Chen knew that, aside from Merus, the Galactic Patrol wasn't actually very strong. Most of the time, they could only handle the likes of bandits. Against somewhat stronger villains, such as the Frieza Force, they were utterly helpless.
But while they were helpless, the Saiyans now had the means to act.
"What do you think, Your Majesty? If you agree, the Saiyans can become the Galactic Patrol's special combat unit."
"I call this kind of unit a peacekeeping force. If there are troublesome criminals you can't handle, you can send in the Saiyans."
The Galactic King paused after hearing this. "Is that so? It's a good idea, but can you guarantee the Saiyans won't cause trouble? Your past reputation isn't exactly good."
"That's all in the past. The Saiyans are under my rule now, and I'll put them on the right path."
"Then... all right."
"Thank you, Galactic King. I'll have my subordinates contact you to work out the details."
After reaching an agreement with the Galactic King, Lin Chen didn't stay long. He took Tights and Jaco back to Earth.
Once they had left, a Galactic Patrol officer hurried in with a Laser Gun.
"Your Majesty, where's the Saiyan criminal? I heard a vicious Saiyan came to attack you?"
"Ah, Merus! Don't worry. It was all a misunderstanding."
The Galactic Patrol officer named Merus was taken aback. When he learned why Lin Chen had come, a flicker of surprise crossed his eyes.
A King of the Saiyan who wanted to lead the Saiyans to turn over a new leaf?
Someone like that had actually emerged among this universe's Saiyans?
One month later, on Planet Vegeta.
By then, the training craze on Planet Vegeta had begun anew.
Inside the Gravity Rooms manufactured by Capsule Corporation, Saiyans of all ages were undergoing grueling training.
Whenever someone suffered serious injuries in a Gravity Room, they were immediately sent to a Healing Device, also supplied by Capsule Corporation, for treatment.
Thanks to Dr. Brief and Bulma, Lin Chen's Saiyan strengthening plan was back on track. The first of the three missions he had received from the system-bringing more than 1,000 Saiyans' battle power above 10,000 within a year-was already more than halfway complete.
The other two missions were also progressing smoothly. It seemed that successfully completing them within a year was now only a matter of time.
With everything going so well, Lin Chen had begun his own training after transporting the equipment from Earth to Planet Vegeta. Soon, however, he discovered that he seemed to have hit a bottleneck.
A Gravity Room set to fifty times normal gravity could no longer meet his needs.
That day, after leaving the training room, Lin Chen checked his current battle power.
One million!
Two months earlier, he had increased his battle power by more than 200,000 over the course of a month.
This past month, however, he had spent the same amount of time and gained only a little over 100,000.
His rate of improvement had clearly slowed considerably.
Sure enough, the Gravity Room set to fifty times normal gravity was almost useless to him now.
Perhaps it was time to visit Earth. Had Dr. Brief finished developing the hundred-times-gravity room?
Before leaving Earth, Lin Chen had offered Saiyan spaceship technology as payment and commissioned Dr. Brief to develop Gravity Rooms with higher settings. He had also entrusted Dr. Brief with developing several other pieces of technology related to the Saiyans.
Now that a month had passed, it was time to check on things on Earth.
Before leaving, though, Lin Chen naturally had to check how things were going with the Saiyans.
