The growing Galaxy Alliance had brought peace to most of the universe.
Meanwhile, civilizations throughout the universe had begun expanding their exchanges thanks to that peace.
As a member of the Galaxy Alliance, Earth naturally rode this wave of exchange as well.
In just a few years, Earth underwent tremendous changes.
As planets went, Earth lay in a remote corner of the universe and had little to offer in terms of resources.
Yet Earth had now become famous throughout the universe for two things.
One was, of course, the Capsule Corporation, which had mastered Hoi-Poi Capsule technology.
The other was Earth's culinary culture.
Over those five years, countless alien civilizations came and went on Earth, allowing the planet to continue developing in an atmosphere of prosperity.
"Look! That's the home of Dr. Brief, the owner of the Capsule Corporation!"
That day, a latest-model flying car stopped on the street outside Dr. Brief's house. Four aliens sat inside, wearing Scouters and looking decidedly furtive.
The four aliens looked much like lizards. In the past, they would certainly have drawn a crowd, but with Earth's frequent contact with alien civilizations, an alien appearing on the street no longer attracted any attention.
One of the brown-skinned aliens in the car asked, "Boss, are you sure kidnapping a kid will really make us a fortune?"
"Of course! I've already looked into it. Dr. Brief has a little grandson named Trunks. I hear Earthlings put a lot of stock in family ties. As long as we kidnap Trunks, we'll definitely be able to demand a huge ransom!"
"Boss! Look! Is that Trunks?"
