When artificial moons filled the sky above Planet Vegeta,
streams of Blutz Waves shot toward the surface.
Blutz Waves were a special form of energy produced by a full moon. Saiyans could absorb this unique wavelength through their eyes, triggering a change in their tails and completing a transformation known as the Great Ape Transformation.
Now, as the three moons in the sky came into view of the Saiyans on the ground, their bodies began to swell, and their protective suits slowly stretched with them.
Wild, savage, powerful auras poured from these Saiyans.
Their tails began to lengthen. Male and female alike, their faces jutted forward dramatically, and their teeth sharpened into beastlike fangs.
Before long, terrifying Great Apes over twenty meters tall covered the land.
"Saiyans! Charge!"
The Great Ape Bardock had become beat his chest and roared, then shot into the sky.
Behind him, countless Great Apes took flight as well, charging toward Frieza's spaceship, which had already entered the stratosphere.
Normally, transforming into a Great Ape made a Saiyan lose all reason, but this loss of control was not entirely unmanageable.
Trained Saiyans could retain at least a sliver of reason, enough to carry out a mission.
And this time, every Saiyan had only one goal in mind: destroy the Frieza Force in the sky.
When such a vast horde of Great Apes took off from the planet, the Frieza Force in space naturally detected them.
"L-Lord Frieza! Those Saiyans have turned into Great Apes and are coming this way!"
"What? What do those lowly Saiyans think they're doing?" a rotund, pink alien beside Frieza cried in panic.
"Calm down, Dodoria! They're nothing but wild monkeys. There's no need to be afraid! Send out the soldiers aboard the ship!" a handsome alien said.
"Y-yes, understood, Mr. Zarbon!" Dodoria nodded and immediately issued orders. "Hurry! Send out the soldiers aboard the ship and stop those wild monkeys!"
While Dodoria hurriedly gave his orders, Zarbon turned to Emperor Frieza, who sat behind him in a small hovering pod. "My lord, it seems those Saiyans were prepared. I'm afraid your plan has been leaked."
"Oh ho ho ho! They're just a bunch of filthy monkeys. If they think this will let them stand against me, they're far too naive!" Frieza laughed scornfully.
A Saiyan's power level did increase tenfold after transforming into a Great Ape!
Even so, these Saiyans were still nowhere near a match for him and his power level of 530,000.
Frieza watched events unfold with a smile, without the slightest concern.
Yet those Great Apes soon dealt the proud emperor of the universe a stinging humiliation.
"L-Lord Frieza! Our main force has engaged the Saiyans! We lost 94% of our soldiers in the first wave!"
Bang!
A finger beam suddenly struck the reporting soldier's head, blasting it to pieces.
Frieza gritted his teeth, barely suppressing his anger. "Tch! A bunch of useless trash!"
"Lord Frieza, transforming into Great Apes increases the Saiyans' power levels tenfold. There are at least a hundred Saiyans out there. Even the Ginyu Force would have trouble handling that much power," Zarbon reminded him quietly.
"I know! Those damned monkeys. If that's how they want it, I'll send every last one of them to hell!" Frieza's smile slowly faded. He floated up and flew straight out through the top of the spaceship.
"Why couldn't you wild monkeys just stay put on Planet Vegeta and turn into stars along with your planet? You just had to become cosmic dust instead!"
A cruel smile curved Frieza's lips as he slowly floated out of the spaceship and hovered in space.
Directly ahead of him, the enormous army of Great Apes was almost upon him.
Frieza raised a finger and was just about to gather energy when suddenly...
"Frieza!"
A thunderous shout rang out behind Frieza.
He turned and saw an untransformed Saiyan standing atop the spaceship.
That Saiyan was none other than Lin Chen!
While all the other Saiyans transformed into Great Apes, Lin Chen had used them as cover to sneak close to Frieza's spaceship.
On Planet Namek, Lin Chen had gained more than a simple increase in power level.
He had also fully mastered the Namekians' control over ki.
So while the Frieza Force's attention was drawn to those Great Apes with their astonishing energy, no one noticed Lin Chen suppressing his ki and slipping up to the spaceship.
Everything Lin Chen had done had been for this moment.
While Frieza stood stunned, Lin Chen shifted his gaze to the artificial moons above Planet Vegeta.
In the next instant, his body rapidly inflated like a balloon, and the energy within him erupted without restraint.
"Beep, beep, beep!"
100,000, 110,000, 120,000...
The reading on Frieza's Scouter kept climbing.
The moment the reading reached 180,000, his Scouter exploded.
"Y-you damned monkey!"
For the first time, Frieza felt an overwhelming sense of danger.
A Saiyan's Great Ape Transformation increased their power level tenfold, and this Saiyan had already displayed a power level of around 100,000 before transforming. Multiplied by ten, wouldn't that make him stronger than Frieza's current form?
Panicking, Frieza leaped out of his hovering pod and shattered his Battle Suit, just about to begin transforming...
But at that very moment, Lin Chen, now a Great Ape, opened his mouth and roared at Frieza.
"Roar!"
An enormous energy blast erupted from Lin Chen's mouth, shooting straight toward Frieza!
The enormous blast engulfed the emperor of the universe before he could transform. The proud emperor only managed to cry, "How dare you..." before fading into a shadow and vanishing into space!
The blast that had swallowed Frieza did not dissipate. As Lin Chen turned his head, it swept straight across Frieza's spaceship.
"King Frieza!"
Those aboard screamed in despair before turning to dust along with their ship.
"Ding! Congratulations, host, on completing the first option. Reward: legendary Super Saiyan bloodline. Would you like to fuse with the bloodline immediately?"
The system's voice, which he had not heard in so long, rang out in Lin Chen's mind.
At that moment, he suddenly felt a sense of release.
At last, after four full years, he had finally accomplished this seemingly impossible task: defeating Frieza, the emperor of the universe, with a power level of merely 100,000!
