But four of those sixteen universes had incurred Zeno's punishment because of one man's actions, and all four had been mercilessly erased.
That man was Hearts, the mastermind behind the current attack on the two universes.
According to Whis, Hearts had gathered the finest mortals from four universes and attempted to rebel against the gods. They had actually killed the Supreme Kais and Gods of Destruction of all four universes, plunging them into an age of godless chaos.
But their actions had also angered Zeno, who had personally erased all four universes.
Before Zeno's immense power, even the God Slayer had been helpless.
Yet Whis had never imagined that Hearts, who should have been erased by Zeno along with those four universes, had survived.
And now he had appeared again in Universes 6 and 7?
"But how did this guy gather people from other timelines?" Beerus asked in bewilderment.
"Perhaps some other force is helping him?" Whis speculated.
"The Dark Demon World?"
The words immediately sprang into Lin Chen's mind.
After all, Hearts's appearance had been far too convenient. He had appeared almost exactly when they were preparing to investigate the temporal Anomaly.
The timing was so suspicious that they had to wonder whether the two were connected.
For now, however, all of this was only speculation on Lin Chen's part. He would only learn the truth once he found Hearts.
"Mr. Whis, Lord Beerus, I'll have to trouble you to watch over Universe 7 for now. Mr. Whis, please contact me directly if anything happens."
"Lin Chen, then you're..." Beerus began, puzzled.
"I'm going to reinforce Universe 6."
Using Instant Transmission, Lin Chen left Universe 7 and headed for Universe 6, which was also under attack.
