Lu Ren scrambled up from the ground in a fury, only to find that Xu Yang had already stepped aside.
"Thanks for the match!" Xu Yang smiled and cupped his hands, looking at the footprint on Lu Ren's face.

Lu Ren shuddered. Only then did he remember that if Xu Yang hadn't held back, that kick would have flattened his nose.
He had lost!
He had lost to Xu Yang again, and in such a humiliating fashion.
He had saved his Mountain-Bearing Bear King Palm to fight Xu Yang, yet he hadn't even lasted ten moves before the match ended like this.
He had waited three years for this fight, only to be the loser yet again.

Lu Ren could scarcely believe he was the one who had lost. Everyone had always known that his talent surpassed Xu Yang's. Whenever people spoke of Xu Yang, they only ever said his talent rivaled Lu Ren's.
Yet they had fought twice, and he had lost both times.
He felt as though every gaze coming at him from all directions carried mockery and contempt, as if they were saying he was just another clown like Su Zhe, jumping about ferociously but unable to withstand a single blow.

Lu Ren wanted to offer a few excuses, but he could find nothing to say in his defense. He had been at his peak for this fight, and Xu Yang had beaten him head-on. Even in a fight to the death, he might well have been the one to die.
"Don't say anything yet. Wipe the footprint off your face first. It doesn't look very flattering," Xu Yang reminded him kindly.
