Waves rose and fell, reflecting the daylight in a scattering of broken gold.
Cultivators could be seen riding the wind between the islands, most engaged in trade. There was little trace of monsters; immortals and Buddhists predominated. Occasional clashes broke out, but their commotion vanished into the Vast Sea.
The outer reaches of the Eastern Sea were extraordinarily vast, all but boundless. The Hope Sea, wreathed in thunderbolts, marked the boundary between the Eastern Sea and the outer reaches. Beyond it lay waters outside the flood dragons' jurisdiction.
The Hope Sea Dragon King had fallen.
This divine thunder Dragon King had once guarded the maritime frontier. His bloodline was noble, his ancestry traceable to a Dragon Lord of "fortune official qi." His lineage stood apart, with immense governing authority, and was scarcely subject to the commands of either the vast water or spirit thunder lineages.
Now this divine thunder Dragon King had fallen, and his offspring... Dragon Prince Qiao Bai had also died under mysterious circumstances. The entire Hope Sea had thus returned to the Crystal Palace's control, and another Dragon King had been dispatched to govern it.
Beyond the Hope Sea lay Wisteria Isle, and east of Wisteria Isle was where the spiritual currents of the outer reaches truly converged:

This sea was vast, spanning the Southeast. Numerous spirit islands and immortal isles could be seen amid its waters, with golden mountains and silver peaks. It was Many Treasures' private domain, but little had been established there, and few people were to be found. Its Dao lineage was housed entirely within [Many Treasures Heaven].
Today, however, it was considerably livelier.
A hundred or so cultivators were constructing a mysterious gate and arranging a ritual ground. Wind and thunder surged, green
