In the Heavenly Sea, within the Crystal Palace, stood a side hall.
Named Jade Radiance, the hall was spacious and tucked away behind layers of palace buildings. Suddenly, a Dark-Gold Treasure Carriage parted the seawater. Led by several sea-patrolling Yakshas, it stopped amid the coral outside, which shimmered with multicolored light.
Liu Xiaowen stepped out of the carriage and told Bai Ling to wait there. Then, following the Yakshas ahead, he walked along the waterway toward Jade Radiance Hall. Most of Dragonkind received their own sea fiefs after reaching Foundation Establishment and did not stay in the Crystal Palace. This place was an exception.
His gaze fell on the White Jade plaque above the hall. The words "Jade Radiance" shone brightly, proclaiming the identity of its owner.
As the mistress of Jade Radiance Hall, the Jade Lotus Dragon Maiden had been granted this single hall in the Heavenly Sea as her fief. Though far smaller than the sea fiefs of other dragonkin, it stood close to the Crystal Palace and thus carried extraordinary prestige.
Several Yakshas joined forces to open the White Jade Hall doors and withdrew to the sides, their eyes darting about. Liu Xiaowen understood their meaning and tossed out a brocade pouch. The surrounding Yakshas immediately beamed with delight and thanked him repeatedly.
As soon as he entered, several maidservants in frost-white gauze approached. In twos and threes, they led him into a side room to bathe first. Liu Xiaowen knew the rules and offered no resistance. This dragon maiden loved cleanliness and could not tolerate the slightest filth.
He removed his clothes, revealing skin covered in scars. The maidservants beside him stepped forward to help wash him, but he merely waved them away, indicating that he could do it himself.
