Hello, fellow readers. The book actually went premium last night, but I didn't really understand how all this worked and posted the chapter as a free one.
These past two days, I've still been slogging away at sending out résumés and scheduling interviews, trying to see which company might offer me a better position.
I'm a newcomer and had never written a novel before this, though I majored in translation as an undergraduate. Perhaps that makes me a fellow worker in words?
This book was inspired by Mystic Mirror, and quite a few of its settings drew on Old Ji's work, but I wouldn't call it a wholesale copy. Things like the Dao lineages and immortal foundations were my own ideas.
At first, after reading comments in the reader community, I imagined a development model built around a small but select set of talisman seeds, so I put pen to paper and wrote a chapter.
I've been able to keep writing until now thanks to everyone's support. Writing a book is much harder than I imagined. Whenever I actually put pen to paper, I feel as though I've written a pile of crap, with flaws everywhere.
I'll try to steer the upcoming plot toward the main storyline. A fellow reader previously said in the reader community that my writing was scattered. I reflected on it, and that really is a problem. Going forward, I'll try to make things more coherent and push the main storyline along.
