This place was called the Pure Lotus Treasure Land, one of Sindhu's twelve lands. To its east lay Yunmojia Land; to its west, it faced Wind Qilin Continent from afar, separated by the Cause Sea, which stretched tens of thousands of miles across.

Monsters and corpse puppets of every bizarre description crawled out of fissures stretching thousands of miles, climbing the pitch-black cliff faces toward the mortal world and letting out howls and droning cries that shook the mountains.
A Dragon Sparrow with only one wing took flight, whipping up fierce winds that toppled the Buddhist pagodas around the sacred mountain one after another. A Tiger-Bear reduced to an empty hide rode crimson fire, slaughtering monks at will. Densely packed Baleful Serpents emerged, heads linked to tails, and began strangling everything along their path that could breathe.
A black sun hung high overhead, as though it would fall from the sky and crush the earth.
Bloodfire and baleful light constantly fell from the edges
