The desert of the Great Nether Wastes.
Yellow sand whirled through the air, blotting out the sky and sun. Waves of scorching heat surged from deep within the desert, withering even the last surviving plants along its fringes.
That endless expanse of sandy yellow spread to the great wall of Wu Earth. Yet the moment it struck the Wu Light, the once-rampant windblown sand settled, stripped of its might, and sank into the earth.
Behind the city, the great lake was usually as clear as a mirror, reflecting the layers of precious azure wood groves on its southern shore, which encircled several grayish-yellow hills.
Under the influence of that single drop of a True Lord's blood, the former [Yellow Ram Great Desert] had become a treasured land of Wood Virtue. Azure wood flourished across hundreds, even thousands of li, and quite a few Wood-Virtue Spirit Objects had even been nurtured within. The place was called [Coiling Forest].
Scales grew upon the trees, and their branches and leaves intertwined. At dawn and noon, the forest drew down rays of blue-white and golden light to nourish its vegetation.
Suddenly, Li Fire rose in the heart of Coiling Forest, burning away the azure wood to reveal a low hill at its very center.
The hill was grayish-yellow and covered in murals, most made by the Ancient Qiang. They largely depicted barren earth and monsters running rampant. Occasionally, there were scenes of fertile soil turning green again, nurturing grass and grain, but these were immediately followed by carvings of endless monsters wreaking havoc.
Figures in dark shamanic robes emerged from beneath the rocks, all wearing grotesquely shaped masks of ghosts and gods. They began laying out a formation, and Black Curse Script spread over the entire hill like ripples of water.
