Once they were out of sight of Yue Yao and the others, Xiao Fan did not lead his companions wandering aimlessly. Instead, he found another spot to discuss something with them.
"Did you notice?" Xiao Fan looked solemnly at the other four, furrowed his brows, and continued, "That team of Inner Academy students wasn't actually all that strong. We could have taken them down."
"But their coordination was excellent." Xiao Yan nodded and looked at Xiao Fan, speaking evenly. "Once we started fighting, their seamless teamwork completely restricted what we could do."
"Exactly."
"So what you mean is..." Shoulder Guard looked at Xiao Fan's serious expression, a glimmer of understanding appearing in his eyes as he spoke.
"Our coordination is poor." Xiao Fan did not keep them guessing. "We need to improve our teamwork. That will greatly increase our fighting strength when we encounter more Inner Academy teams."
"All right. What do you suggest?" Wu Hao did not object. Their coordination was lacking, after all. If they encountered another well-coordinated team, they could very well lose.
"I left a mark on the team we just encountered. Next, let's use that whetstone to give this sharp blade of ours a proper honing!" Xiao Fan looked at them, a faint smile in his voice.
For the next stretch of time, the others followed Xiao Fan, launching occasional surprise attacks on the team they had encountered that day. During their second encounter, their teamwork still fell short against their opponents. After the two sides fought for about half an hour, Xiao Fan once again gave the signal to retreat.
After briefly discussing the problems that had surfaced during the battle and working out new tactics, they attacked that Inner Academy team again that afternoon.
