Chi-Chi called out into the yard.

The children hurried back into the house.
"Wash your hands first! You're filthy." Son Gohan looked at the children running inside from his seat on the couch.
The three children ran toward the bathroom, laughing and playing again.
Videl sat beside Son Gohan, her eyes fixed on the television in front of them.
The television was reporting on the reopening of the World Martial Arts Tournament.
Chi-Chi looked nostalgic too, her thoughts drifting back more than thirty years.
She said, "The World Martial Arts Tournament... that brings back memories. Come to think of it, I competed in it once."
Videl asked curiously, "Oh, Mom, you actually competed in the World Martial Arts Tournament? Which one was it? Was it fun?"
Chi-Chi smiled. "I remember it was the 23rd. Back then, I fought Goku, and then we got married right there in the ring. Goku was the champion that year."
As Chi-Chi spoke, she clasped her hands together, her cheeks faintly flushed, looking every bit like a girl in love.
Shenron had fixed both the mother-in-law's and daughter-in-law's physical ages at eighteen, granting them eternal youth, so Chi-Chi really looked no different now than she had more than thirty years ago.

Son Gohan chuckled. "Hahaha, Mom and Dad only got married then. It would've been pretty strange if we'd already been around."
