As he hurried back, Yechen considered his next steps.
First, this was not yet the time to capture the Four-Tails. Not because he could not do it, but because there was no need.
Once he sent the intelligence back, Minato Namikaze would surely arrive before long. Then he could sit back and reap the rewards of their fight.

With that thought, Yechen veered right and charged toward the Rock Ninja ranks.
He had already planned to take a detour. Now, positioned halfway along the Rock Ninja formation on the left flank, he cut straight through to sever their ranks.
That was right-he did not go straight after Roshi.
Instead, he chose to slaughter his way through the troops first. He wondered why Roshi had attacked this side. Had he been the target from the start?
By killing the Five-Tails Jinchuriki, Yechen had made himself a bitter enemy of the Rock Ninja. Was Ōnoki really comfortable sending the Four-Tails Jinchūriki here to die?
Or did Roshi have the strength to back it up?
Either way, Yechen felt no fear. He had the strength to be confident.
All he was doing now was forcing his opponent to return and reinforce his troops.
They knew perfectly well that, aside from Roshi, no one in the entire force was a match for Yechen.
Unless Roshi wanted to be left fighting alone, he would never let Yechen run rampant. He would have to come to their aid.
Thirty seconds later.
He reached the edge of the Rock Ninja formation.
