South of the wooded mountain, five figures in black robes and masks raced through the forest.
Suddenly, they stopped short. A figure had appeared ahead, watching them with a mischievous grin.
"Who's there?"
One of the five shouted abruptly and flicked his hand, throwing a kunai.
The kunai was aimed straight at the newcomer's throat.
Suddenly, all five narrowed their eyes in shock. The man had caught the kunai between two fingers.
They would not have been surprised if he had knocked it aside or dodged it, but he had caught a kunai thrown by a Special Jōnin with just two fingers.
Just how incredible was his strength?
"Forgotten me already?"
"Uchiha Ye Chen!"
Indeed, the newcomer was Yechen. Once he had confirmed his targets, there was no way he would let them leave.
He had picked up his pace and reached this spot ahead of them.
He did not rush to attack. Raising a finger, he flipped the kunai and slipped that finger through the ring at its end. With a slight movement, he sent the kunai spinning.
He looked at them with a broad smile.
"So you're the ones who've been spying on me these past few days. Does Danzo want me dead that badly?"
The five had no intention of answering. They quickly exchanged glances, then split up and surrounded him.
Yechen stood quietly, simply watching them move.
They had no intention of showing him any courtesy, either. As soon as they surrounded him, they formed hand seals and cast the Binding Formation, attempting to trap him.
An ordinary Binding Formation required only one person and four sealing tags prepared in advance, making it better suited to an ambush.
