A shrill alarm rang out.
In his room, Yechen had been about to begin training when he looked toward the door, delighted. After such a long wait, something was finally happening.
Before long, a Konoha Chunin arrived with orders for him to head to the conference room immediately.
He wasted no time, leaving his room and heading straight there.
He was not the only one. The entire forward base sprang into action, with every ninja ranked Special Jōnin or above hurrying in the same direction.
An Uchiha Jonin presided over the meeting. Without wasting words, he went straight into the intelligence sent back by the outpost.
Once he finished, he began assigning missions without opening the floor for discussion.

"Take the First and Second Squads to Outpost Five immediately. Here are your mission details."
With that, he tossed Yechen a mission scroll.
Yechen scanned the contents of the scroll, then said,
"I'll leave now."

"Good. Get ready and head out."
At those words, Yechen stood and immediately left the conference room.
Behind him, the Uchiha Jonin continued assigning missions to the other Jonin one by one. Yechen had little interest in what their missions involved.
This mission was a serious one. Kirigakure had sent quite a few people.
That meant a whole pile of evolution points was waiting for him to earn. Why bother worrying about other trivial matters?
