The Kirigakure Ninja, on the other hand, reacted very differently. Every one of them was furious. He actually wanted to poach their goddess for Konoha right in front of them. How despicable!
A gentle breeze swept past. Being called a beautiful young lady made Mei Terumi blush on the spot.
"You bastard, die!"
Mei Terumi unleashed her aura. The energy gathered beneath her feet exploded, sending her speed soaring to an astonishing level.
The next second, her figure blurred into an afterimage, and she appeared before Yechen in an instant.
Whoosh!
A cold gleam flashed.
Mei Terumi held a kunai infused with Water Release energy, its tip suddenly shining blue.
An incredibly sharp aura surged toward Yechen's throat.
"Not bad speed."
Yechen offered a word of praise as he watched Mei Terumi suddenly appear.
His smile deepened when he sensed the water energy in her kunai.
Clang!
Before the kunai could reach him, Yechen blocked it with the Flowing Shadow Thrust.
To Yechen's surprise, Mei Terumi's strength was impressive, too. Judging by the vibrations transmitted through their weapons, she was probably much stronger than most elite jonin.
Yechen's gaze sharpened as he looked closely. The arm holding her kunai had grown slightly thicker, its muscle definition pronounced. Clearly, she had used some sort of strength-enhancing ninjutsu.
Not only that, she hadn't retreated a single step during their clash. A broad stretch of sea beneath her feet had sunk inward-she had channeled the force of the impact into the water.
Whatever else might be said, that alone proved that Mei Terumi's taijutsu was far from weak.
"Not bad strength."
Yechen remained calm throughout.
But to Mei
