"Captain, do you have any thoughts?"
When Yechen remained silent for a long time, Wildfire asked.
"Just tell them I don't agree to taking back that Sharingan."
With that, Yechen flickered into the air and resumed his training.
"The captain's the same as ever. Isn't he even a little excited? Sigh."
Uchiha Wildfire sighed and left.
Another five days passed in the blink of an eye.
Uchiha Wildfire came looking for him again, bringing news that Kirigakure had finally stirred after two months of silence.
"Tell me the details." Yechen stopped training, somewhat eager to hear what Kirigakure was doing.
"This morning, three squads went out on patrol and spotted a Kirigakure squad roaming near the coast from a distance. When they approached, the enemy fled immediately." Uchiha Wildfire looked solemn.
"After the squads returned and I learned about this, I immediately asked the other patrol squads what they'd seen. It turned out that patrols had been spotting Kirigakure Ninja since dawn.
"They were spread all along the defense line, moving back and forth, as if they were looking for gaps in our defenses." At this point, a trace of worry appeared on Wildfire's face.
"Captain, this doesn't look good to me. Are they preparing for a major operation?"
"Yes, probably."
Yechen nodded, agreeing with his assessment.
He even suspected that Sunagakure and Kirigakure had already settled their terms and signed a peace treaty.
Next, the enemy would likely mobilize all their forces and launch an all-out attack on Konoha's defense line.
Konoha, by contrast, had no intention of getting bogged down fighting Kirigakure. At least for now, it did not intend to wage an all-out war against them.
Judging by the recent intelligence, Yechen figured Konoha was preparing for a major showdown with Sunagakure to eliminate that problem first.
