Before Yechen could act, Kokuō made the first move.
With a flash, she darted forward and sent Saiken flying with a kick.
"Disrespect our master, and you're asking for a beating!"
"Kokuō, what are you..."
Saiken hung his head after the kick, his face full of hurt.
Then Kokuō walked over to Saiken and patted him on the head.
To Yechen's astonishment, Saiken actually started crying. Corrosive liquid poured out in streams. Fortunately, the Summoning Hall was no ordinary place, or his tears might have brought it crashing down.
"Master, it's settled. Saiken has agreed to join the Summoning Hall."
The soft, sweet voice belonged to Kokuō.
"That's all it took?" Yechen looked dumbfounded. He had fought tooth and nail for so long without making Saiken submit, yet Kokuō had won him over with nothing more than a pat.
Then why the hell should I bother fighting in the future? Whenever I meet another tailed beast, can't I just summon Kokuō? She's their queen, after all!
A few minutes later, Saiken successfully moved into the Summoning Hall, becoming one of its residents.
Ding! The Summoning Hall has advanced to level 3. Its grounds have expanded, spiritual energy density has increased threefold, and daily energy production has increased by twenty percent.
What happened next left Yechen dumbstruck.
The three little creatures played in the vast plaza, swam in the pool, bounced around on the slides, played hide-and-seek in the haunted house, and basked in the moonlight on the beach with a glass of watermelon juice beside them. They had completely forgotten that their master, Yechen, was still there.
Seeing this, Yechen slapped his forehead. "What did I do to deserve this?"
