The next day.
Early morning.
Inside a house in the Uchiha Clan Compound.
Yechen woke groggily, his mind still hazy. Clearly, he was not fully awake yet.
Perhaps hunger had roused him.
Rubbing his eyes, he lay blankly in bed and stared at the ceiling, looking utterly languid.
"I slept well. Being home really does feel different."
Without thinking, he crossed one leg over the other and swung his foot in the air. For a moment, he was back to his old self from his previous life.
Grrr...!
Yechen rubbed his stomach and smiled. With a kip-up, he sprang out of bed, quickly washed up, and headed outside.
As he made his way out of the compound, the clan members he encountered treated him with great respect, though most only watched from a distance. They were probably afraid of this god of slaughter, too.
Yechen paid them no mind and walked straight out, heading for Konoha's busiest district.
It faced the Hokage Building, with shops and restaurants lining both sides of the street and mobile vendors crowding the entire road.
Yechen could never resist these snacks. Before long, his arms were full of all kinds of food.
The vendors had all seen Yechen in person before. When he came to buy something, every one of them grew terribly nervous.
Although Yechen was the village's hero, his reputation had been forged through killing. Anyone who saw him instinctively felt afraid.
He understood that, too. Once he bought the food he liked and paid for it, he left immediately.
Seeing Yechen's childlike demeanor, the vendors and passersby wondered, Is he really Uchiha Ye Chen?
Walking along the bustling street, Yechen almost felt as though he were browsing a snack street in his previous life.
Every so often, he saw shinobi passing by.
