"Yechen..."
Ito Miyuki was stunned. She had been fighting a Chunin when a figure suddenly appeared and killed the Rock Ninja in an instant.
Seeing such decisive action, Ito Miyuki thought a Jonin had intervened. When she saw Yechen wearing sunglasses, she froze for a moment.
Had Yechen already become this powerful? His Body Flicker Technique was better than that of some Jonin, and he had even killed an enemy Chunin with ease.
"Watch out!"
Yechen flashed to Ito Miyuki's side and pulled her away.
A Rock Ninja attacked with one of his village's signature ninjutsu.
Fortunately, Yechen had activated both of his ocular techniques. He could clearly see the chakra the enemy released and the path it followed, allowing him to anticipate the attack before the technique was unleashed.
"Earth Release-Earth Dragon Lance!"
Crack, crack, crack...!
Pointed stone pillars rapidly erupted from the ground, chasing Yechen and Miyuki as they retreated.
Fortunately, Yechen moved fast. Only after retreating ten meters did he narrowly escape the attack.
Before his opponent could unleash a second technique, Yechen released Miyuki and swept a hand across his waist. A shuriken spun rapidly in his hand, a glimmer of white light flashing across it.
Space Compression, power ×2.
Whoosh!
The spinning shuriken sliced through the air, cutting the stone pillar blocking its path cleanly in two.
The Rock Ninja forming hand seals sensed the pressure rushing through the air. He tried to dodge, but it was already too late.
Enhanced by Space Compression, the shuriken traveled twice as fast as before. Combined with its immense destructive power, it left only a faint white line in the air.
Before the Rock Ninja could react, his head was sliced clean off.
As his head flew into the air, a trace of consciousness remained. Amid the tumbling, upside-down images, only one thing stayed in his mind: Uchiha.
Energy +80
"Don't get distracted on the battlefield," Yechen warned before darting away.
"Yechen..." Ito Miyuki watched his back as he rushed into battle. In that moment, he had felt like a stranger to her.
"Uchiha Ye Chen, you've awakened."
Yechen weaved through the battlefield, mercilessly cutting down enemy ninja.
But he was no fool. He would not recklessly provoke the enemy Jonin.
Whether he could beat them was another matter. Having his movements tied down would be the real loss.
Killing a Chunin he could handle and earning dozens of evolution points-what could be better than that?
Perhaps he had killed too many. Eventually, a Special Jōnin set his sights on him.
A kunai shot toward him from behind. With the Byakugan granting him a full 360-degree view without blind spots, Yechen merely tilted his body and avoided the attack.
He turned and saw a Rock Ninja charging toward him. Another Rock Ninja also abandoned his opponent and headed straight for Yechen.
Perhaps he had drawn too much attention. After killing more than a dozen Chunin in succession, it would have been strange if the Jonin hadn't noticed him.
It was hardly surprising, then, that two Special Jōnin were coming his way.
Neither had expected a newly promoted Genin to be so terrifying, slaughtering Chunin as though no one could stand in his way. It would have been understandable for an Elite Jonin, but this was only a Konoha Genin.
He was also wearing Uchiha clothing, which inevitably brought the Sharingan to mind.
The corpse of an Uchiha ninja with the Sharingan was extremely valuable, making them priority targets on the battlefield. That was the price of the Sharingan's immense fame!
Yechen had expected this. The moment he stopped holding back and fought at full strength, he had known someone would target him.
He wanted more evolution points, and taking a little risk was worth it.
Clang, clang!
Fighting one against two, Yechen had already engaged both Special Jōnin.
No one on Konoha's side showed any intention of helping. With one person tying down two Special Jōnin, the pressure on everyone else eased considerably.
How long that person could hold them off was not something they considered.
Special Jōnin could unleash power on par with Jonin, but their aptitude and attributes still fell within the Chunin range. Even so, their combat strength was far above Yechen's.
Fortunately, Yechen cultivated both his chakra and his body. His mental strength was inferior to theirs, but when it came to physique and strength, who held the advantage was far less certain.
Clink, clink!
Kunai in hand, Yechen clashed with the two Rock Ninja, then sprang backward to put some distance between them.
The two Rock Ninja did not immediately pursue him. Instead, they stood to either side, their gazes fixed on Yechen.
Their hands trembled slightly. They had actually come off worse in that exchange. They could not understand how a Konoha Genin could be so strong. Was he a ninja who specialized in taijutsu?
But that didn't make sense either. He was clearly wearing Uchiha clothing. Why would he train in taijutsu like a civilian ninja?
In the shinobi world, those without talent as ninja were the ones who specialized in taijutsu. Might Guy and Rock Lee were both examples. Lacking aptitude in the mental aspects, they trained their bodies instead.
But they had still taken the wrong approach. Physique was important, but strength could never be neglected.
Only strength combined with physique could produce extraordinary combat power.
"Kid, stop struggling. A mere Genin can't possibly survive against two Special Jōnin. Put down your weapon and surrender. Considering your talent, Iwagakure would be willing to accept you."
Seeing that Yechen was a tough opponent, they wanted to end the battle quickly and support the other fronts. They resorted to psychological tactics, hoping to shake his resolve and catch him off guard for the kill.
They would never sincerely accept a ninja who betrayed his side in the middle of battle. As far as they were concerned, anyone who could betray Konoha could also betray them.
They had only said it to unsettle Yechen.
A weak-willed Genin might have wavered in such a situation.
But he was Yechen, someone who had transmigrated from another world. How could he fail to see through such a crude trick?
