Riiing...!
A bell rang out insistently.
Yechen looked up and saw a dozen or so Konoha ninja walk into the classroom.
The man leading them carried a document envelope stamped "Top Secret."
It was easy to guess what was inside. The written portion of the Chunin Exams was about to begin.
There was no solemn speech. The chief examiner for the first round simply reassigned their seats, then handed out the papers.
All he said during the process was that cheating was forbidden. That was it.
Yechen took his paper and gave it a quick scan. The questions did not seem too difficult. Why did he think so? Because the other ninja had already started answering them.
But!
He could not answer a single question.
Since arriving in this world, he had only attended a month of basic classes, and he had spent most of that time just coasting along. He could not answer even the most basic questions.
Fortunately, he had the Sharingan. Cheating without getting caught would be easy.
As he raised his eyes, his Sharingan appeared. Following the patterns and movements of the others as they answered, Yechen picked up his pen and began scribbling away.
The exam rules prohibited cheating, but as long as he was not caught, it did not count as cheating. That, too, was part of the test.
Time ticked steadily by.
Yechen had already filled half a page. He did not care whether the answers were right, and passing or failing did not matter much to him either.
Just then, a voice broke the classroom's silence.
"Number 32, you may leave."
Everyone turned toward a corner on the left. A candidate slowly rose to his feet, his face deathly pale, and walked out of the classroom with a look of bitter reluctance.
