Amid the sweeping flames and billowing smoke, three figures scrambled out of the inferno.
Yechen flickered into view, blocking their path.
The three Sand Ninja shuddered at the sight of the youth gripping his sword hilt. They had thought the rumors were exaggerated. Only after meeting him in person did they realize how little they knew.
"Well, well, three friends from Sunagakure. Why are you showing your real faces? Don't you usually like hiding in the shadows and attacking people? What happened?"

"Huangmu..." the other two cried out.
The blade sliced through his neck, sending blood spraying. Huangmu clutched his throat and looked at his two companions before collapsing to the ground with a thud.
"Huangmu..."
At the sight, a Sunagakure Chunin cried out in anguish, seemingly sharing a close bond with Huangmu.
But that was no concern of Yechen's. His scarlet Sharingan fixed on the two remaining Sand Ninja as he said flatly,
"Are you ready to die?"
"You're a demon!" The female Sand Ninja charged at Yechen as though she had gone mad.
"Nanmei, don't..."

A blade flashed. Nanmei froze mid-charge, a line of blood appearing across her neck.
Splurt!
She spat out a mouthful of blood. There was no fear or hatred on her face. Instead, she looked toward Huangmu's body and gave a faint smile.
They seemed to have been lovers, to share such a tender moment.
