"I'm curious. White Zetsu's transformation was flawless. How did you realize the Naruto he turned into was fake?" Shin asked, holding Minato up with one hand and pressing a kunai against his neck with the other.
"He looked exactly like him! I almost mistook him for Naruto too! But I wasn't the one who noticed something wrong! The Nine-Tails did! The Nine-Tails sensed something off about that fake Naruto!" Kushina answered coldly.
"Oh?" Shin was intrigued. He had not expected the Nine-Tails to possess such an ability.
"You should know what I'm after! If you cooperate and hand over the Nine-Tails inside you, I can let Minato go! Killing him wouldn't benefit me anyway!" Shin lifted Minato slightly, gesturing to Kushina.
Kushina felt helpless. She could give up her own life to save Minato, and she was willing to do it!
But she feared that even after she surrendered the Nine-Tails, Shin would refuse to let Minato go and kill him anyway!
"Hatake Swordsmanship! Flash!"
Suddenly, a dazzling white blade flashed straight toward Uchiha Shin's neck!
Sensing a mortal threat in that flash of steel, Uchiha Shin instinctively released Minato and leaped backward to dodge the strike!
"Come on, Kushina! You're one of us from Konoha! How could you leave us out of something like this and come risk your life alone?" a white-haired, middle-aged man said, supporting Minato with one hand and holding a sword in the other.
"Sakumo? When did you get here?" Kushina hurriedly leaped to Hatake Sakumo's side and took Minato from him, pleasantly surprised.
"I've been following you ever since you left the village! I wanted to see what you were doing, leaving at such a critical time!" Sakumo said irritably.
Kushina blushed a little. She knew what would happen if she were captured, but
