On a remote archipelago in the Land of Water, shrouded year-round in thick sea fog, the Six-Tails Jinchuriki Utakata sat on a reef overlooking the sea, playing an ocarina. Its lilting, faintly sorrowful melody drifted away on the sea breeze. He liked the peace and isolation here, as though they let him briefly forget his fate as a vessel.

"What... are these monsters?!" Utakata's expression changed. He immediately leaped backward, forming hand seals. "Water Release: Wild Water Wave!" A powerful stream of water slammed into the tentacles.

Yet the water failed to scatter them. Instead, it seemed to be absorbed, and the tentacles swelled slightly, spreading even faster! More tentacles surged in from every direction, trying to surround him.

"It's useless! They can absorb chakra!" Saiken cried in terror.

Utakata's heart sank. He knew he had encountered an exceptionally troublesome enemy. He immediately changed tactics, using his agility to dart between the reefs, evading the coiling tentacles as he searched for a way out. He noticed that they seemed more susceptible to purely physical attacks, but they regenerated
