The outcome was just as Tang Wuchen had expected. The instant he saw Su Jiu appear, he was almost certain those people would never return.
Su Jiu looked at the two of them with a faint, mocking smile. "Dignified Personal Disciples of the Medicine Gate, and you couldn't break free of these shoddy magical artifacts?"
Tang Wuchen smiled sheepishly. "Every lifesaving item we use is one fewer left. We had faith in you, Fellow Daoist Su."
Su Jiu snorted. The Purple Ultimate Sword flashed, and the two magical artifacts restraining them shattered instantly.
"Come with me."
The two followed Su Jiu without knowing why, but considering her strength, they were willing enough. At least their safety was assured.
They had originally assumed that, since everyone in this Secret Realm belonged to the eight great sects, there would be no villains among them. In the end, though, the human heart was unfathomable. Those rules must have been made for people like that.
And so Su Jiu brought Tang Wuchen and Jiang Qi back to the Cave.
The instant Tang Wuchen saw Feng Piaoxu, his expression turned solemn.
"Was she bitten by a Spirit-Eroding Ant?"
He reached out to check Feng Piaoxu's pulse, all but confirming his suspicion.
"How did she get bitten by a Spirit-Eroding Ant?"
Feng Piaoxu said weakly, "The moment I landed after entering through the Cold Pool entrance, some venomous insect bit me. Oh, it was probably the Spirit-Eroding Ant you mentioned. I was attacked before I could prepare at all."
Tang Wuchen gave her a surprised look. She's still alive? That's more than ordinary good luck.
But he figured saying that aloud might earn him a beating, so he chose to remain silent.
By then, Su Jiu had piled up the wood scraps she had gathered earlier.
