Night shrouded the western shore of Hachinosu Island, where waves lapped gently against the rocks with a soothing murmur.
The scholars' campfire danced on the beach, stretching Olvia's shadow long across the sand.
"Olvia, here's what you wanted."
Clover handed Olvia a well-preserved handwritten news draft.
"I didn't think you actually had it, Doctor!" she exclaimed, looking at the well-preserved draft.
She sat beside the fire with her knees drawn up, her fingertips absently rubbing the paper.
"This was the first report that made Rear Admiral Gern famous at the West Blue Branch back then." Clover smiled.
Since this was the first rising star to emerge among the Marines of the West Blue, Clover had kept a draft when he published such significant news as editor-in-chief.
Later, Big News Morgans monopolized the entire news business, so Clover resigned and went to Ohara, taking these "treasures" of his with him. He had brought them along on this voyage, too.
"Why do you want to read about him, Olvia?" Clover asked, puzzled by her serious expression.
"Because even after learning what we were researching, he still chose to let us go..."
"Is there a problem with that?"
"The problem is... he's seen other Poneglyphs..." Olvia murmured to herself, the firelight gilding her pale hair.
"Olvia?" Vey approached with hot tea, the dancing flames reflected in his glasses.
"You should get some rest. Tomorrow, we all need to work together..."
"I'm going to see that Marine rear admiral." She suddenly stood, crumpling the news draft in her grip.
"Have you lost your mind?! We finally made it through all this!" Vey nearly spilled his tea, and Clover was just as stunned by her sudden decision.
He hurriedly lowered his voice and said urgently, "Olvia, people change. What I said this afternoon was only
