The waters of the New World had just endured a brief bout of "El Thor."
The wreckage of a three-masted pirate ship slowly sank, arcs of electricity dancing across its charred planks.
Enel stood atop the mast and yawned lazily, casually tossing the last pirate captain he had electrocuted into the sea like a piece of trash.
Then he picked his ear, his face full of boredom and irritation. "Tch, this is getting duller by the day...
"Have all the vermin in these waters fled at the mere mention of God?
"Not a single decent opponent. I'm bored to death!"
Just as he complained about the lack of business and considered finding somewhere to take a nap
or going back to fight that musclebound monster Bullet to kill some time, his powerful Mantra (Observation Haki) suddenly detected something.
Far in the distance, a small vessel that looked less like a boat and more like a coffin
silently parted the waves at an unusually steady speed, sailing calmly in his direction.
There were no sails aboard, nor anyone rowing. It seemed to be drifting with the current, yet its course was astonishingly straight.
"Oh?" Enel raised an intrigued eyebrow. With the Golden Staff resting on his shoulder, his gaze pierced the distance and settled on the lone figure aboard the little boat.
He had short black hair, a neatly trimmed beard, and a stern expression.
He wore a simple white shirt, black trousers, and ankle boots.
His most striking feature was his pair of sharp, hawklike yellow eyes.
Though simply dressed, he carried the unmistakable bearing of an extraordinary powerhouse.
And strapped to his back was an enormous, cross-shaped black blade!
The blade was broad, black as night, and unsheathed, merely resting quietly on his back.
"All alone?" A playful grin
