Her petite figure was nimble, and keeping quietly behind the few people made her very hard to notice.
They crossed the small woods behind the orphanage and came to a secluded little house in the corner.
The little house was a single-story bungalow, narrow and gloomy, with only one window sealed off by iron wire.
The caregiver removed the keys from her waist, opened the door, and stood at the entrance respectfully welcoming the big bosses inside.
Then she closed the door and left while humming a tune.
Luo Lingyue hid behind a tree and tiptoed toward the outside of the window.
Only when close could she hear the faint crying of a boy coming from inside the house, along with a man's heavy panting.
The crying was intermittent, but Luo Lingyue could tell that it was Wang Ren's voice.
She did not know what these people were doing, but right now the only one who could protect Wang Ren was her.
Just like when she first entered the orphanage and Wang Ren protected her.
Luo Lingyue clenched her fists and left the little house temporarily.
She ran to the cafeteria, and taking advantage of the caregiver's inattention, she stole a kitchen knife left casually on the cutting board.
Then she wrapped the kitchen knife inside her clothes and returned to the little house once more.
She stood in front of the door and knocked on that wooden door.
"Who is it?"
The man inside asked vigilantly.
Luo Lingyue did not make a sound.
After quite a while, someone finally opened the door.
At the doorway was a little girl with pitch-black eyes, holding a kitchen knife stained with grease.
She was not even as tall as the man's waist.
The man scoffed, obviously not feeling any threat.
Luo Lingyue said firmly, "Give Wang Ren back to me."
Hearing the familiar voice, the boy inside began to struggle, "What are you doing here! Hurry up and leave! Hurry up and leave!"
It was Wang Ren's voice, and Luo Lingyue's eyes lit up as she tried to force her way inside.
Instead, she was kicked out by the man at the doorway.
In a fleeting glance, she saw Wang Ren, completely naked with iron shackles on both his hands and feet.
He seemed to be covered in bruised and purple wounds, locked to the bed with his freedom restricted.
The pleading voice inside the room continued, "Please let her go, I'll listen to you about everything, I'll listen to you about everything..."
Luo Lingyue leaned against the tree trunk and struggled to climb up; she wanted to say don't be afraid, Wang Ren, she wasn't scared at all.
But it really hurt so much, hurting so badly that she could not speak.
The man who had kicked her at the doorway was one of the big bosses who spoke on stage.
His gaze was full of mockery as he stepped forward, grabbed Luo Lingyue by the hair, and dragged her into the room.
Then he closed the door once more.
They paid no attention to Luo Lingyue, letting her unable to move curl up in the corner like a dead dog.
Then, right before her wide-open eyes, they stripped off their clothes and pressed down on Wang Ren.
Luo Lingyue's eyes were full of tears, and she had never seen Wang Ren like this.
He was like a soulless toy doll, his originally bright eyes dim and devoid of light.
His faith seemed to be completely destroyed.
"Brother... Brother..."
Luo Lingyue called out softly.
The kitchen knife she had stolen earlier had fallen outside the room.
She thought, if she still had a knife, if she still had a knife...
Suddenly, the pain on her body gradually subsided, and she could feel her wounds beginning to heal as well.
Luo Lingyue curved the corners of her mouth and gripped the long saber that had appeared out of thin air in her hand.
The merrymaking men did not notice the change over here until Luo Lingyue jumped onto the bed and plunged the long saber in her hand into the body of one of them.
That man bled endlessly, and the punctured hole grew larger bit by bit like a living black hole.
He watched with his own eyes as his steaming internal organs dropped onto the ground with a splat.
In the blink of an eye, the man lost his breath.
The remaining men had not yet reacted when the nimble Luo Lingyue stabbed her blade into the second person as well.
Her speed was very fast, and the few men in the room all died beneath her blade.
Scattered horizontally and vertically inside the room lay several mutilated corpses, their internal organs mixed with blood covering the floor.
In a trance, Luo Lingyue looked toward the mirror beside the bed.
Wang Ren was gone, and replacing him was herself, completely naked and wearing shackles.
And outside the window was the rising moon...
That sound of the wind was her own sobbing.
