Zhong Mingnan gritted his teeth and forced himself to speak.
"I-I once attended the Institute of Technology in City B."
Monsters were products of the Instance, Zhong Mingnan thought. He would only mention things from the real world.
There was no way this creature had done any of them.
But the strange dog-headed creature before him showed no sign of panic.
The canine mouth on his face moved slightly. "Me too."
Zhong Mingnan's eyes widened, and he cried out in agitation, "You too? How is that possible? Aren't you a monster? How could you have gone to the real world and attended the same university as me!"
Cerberus spread his hands. "The rules never said we couldn't lie, did they?"
"That's cheating! I'm not playing anymore!"
But his protest had no effect on Cerberus.
Ignoring him, Cerberus continued, "I once broke my right leg."
Zhong Mingnan had intended to protest the game by refusing to answer.
But then he reconsidered. If the dog-headed creature could lie, so could he.
So he said casually, "Me too."
Cerberus giggled at his answer.
Zhong Mingnan gave him a puzzled look. A second later, there was a crack.
It sounded as though something had been snapped with ease.
Agonizing pain erupted in Zhong Mingnan's right leg.
He looked down and saw his right leg bent at a grotesque angle, blood running down his trouser leg and pooling across the floor.
"Aaaaaah!"
He screamed.
The eyes hidden beneath Cerberus's fur gleamed eerily at the sight of blood.
He looked excited, almost thrilled.
He raised two fingers tipped with black nails. "Round two begins."
Zhong Mingnan was too busy clutching his leg and screaming to respond.
So Cerberus went first. "I once broke my left leg."
Zhong Mingnan's other leg broke as well.
His face went
