Chapter Summaries

Yin Chao watched as Moqi Xinsi and his brother survived the Moqi Family massacre and outmaneuvered the grandfather who had ordered their deaths. Moqi Xinsi killed the scarred old man, believing that God had prevented him from dying.

Yin Chao returned to Jin Zi’s imagined wasteland and realized that her grief over Zhao Qing’s repeated deaths had created the world trapping her. As the world began to collapse, Jin Zi’s conflicting memories of how Zhao Qing died unleashed fire, freezing cold, and monsters.
