Su Bai was neither deaf nor blind, so naturally, he knew Lian Xiangyu had developed a few misconceptions about Waiter Number Eight.
When Lian Xiangyu first entered the Infirmary, Shen Dong'er had given him a fierce tongue-lashing over those "misconceptions" about Waiter Number Eight. Although Su Bai had merely sat there in silence, he had heard every word.
Because he had been maintaining his disguise, Su Bai had never met Lian Xiangyu's eyes. Even so, a glance from the corner of his eye was enough to tell him just how deeply this young man had "misunderstood" him.
Su Bai had also heard Shen Dong'er berating Lian Xiangyu when he entered the Infirmary a second time.
Su Bai had to admit that the girl named Shen Dong'er understood Lian Xiangyu remarkably well-well enough to guess what he was thinking from little more than a look. Coupled with how utterly she had humbled herself before Lian Xiangyu in the past, Su Bai could all but imagine how much effort she had put into reading Young Master Lian's moods when they were together years ago, and how desperately she had tried to cater to his every preference.
Even though Shen Dong'er now utterly despised her former self, ingrained habits were not so easy to change. The fact that she still cared only made her more irritable, and made her hate her past self even more.
Still, it was Shen Dong'er who had made Su Bai realize that Lian Xiangyu really had taken a fancy to Waiter Number Eight's appearance, which Black Umbrella had subtly altered. Su Bai did not feel particularly repulsed by it, though. After all...
