Zhang Pan of Class 2, Year 3 at Rainbow Locust No. 1 High School was a famously big figure in his year. This had nothing to do with his grades or family background-he was simply big.
Although the students at Rainbow Locust No. 1 High School ranked among the best in Honghuai City academically, their personalities and intentions were not always as good as their grades. Especially as the college entrance exams drew closer and nerves grew increasingly frayed, finding something to laugh or gossip about, or picking a few people to tease and mess with, was common in every third-year class.
Zhang Pan was the "Fatty" who got teased wherever he went.
Luckily, Zhang Pan had two friends who followed him everywhere and never missed a chance to rib him: Zhou Qingshou, who called himself "Skinny," and Ai Xiaojia, who called herself "Shorty." "Fatty, Skinny, I'm a little scared." Ai Xiaojia, the only girl in the Iron Triangle, was petite but a notorious tomboy in their year. Her love of horror games was what had brought her together with Zhang Pan and Zhou Qingshou, but actually standing on the grounds of Rainbow Locust No. 1 High School at midnight still frightened her a little.
