What had Lin Wenhua seen?
A boy in a Rainbow Locust No. 1 High School uniform stood alone on the bridge over the lake, looking down at the still water beneath him. He seemed frozen in an eerie painting. Eerie, because Lin Wenhua had already seen that in the lake's reflection, the bridge that held only that boy was actually crowded with figures of every shape and form. They seemed to have come from another world, standing silently on the bridge alongside him.
Although he was some distance away, Lin Wenhua, whose eyesight had been good since childhood, could still vaguely make out a boy dressed in black standing beside the student. Instinctively, he felt that this was who the Rainbow Locust No. 1 High School boy had been talking to earlier.
And apart from that boy in black, none of the other figures reflected on the lake looked remotely normal!
A bride in a red wedding gown resembled a blooming blood-red lotus. Even with night already fallen over the lake and surrounding woods, a dim, bloody glow lingered around her. A mass of blue flame burned in the lake's reflection, gradually taking the shape of a burning human figure.
Beside those figures stood a tall man holding a black umbrella in the dead of night, a black-haired woman seated in a wheelchair, and a nurse in white who looked somewhat out of place among them. A massive black dog half as tall as a person looked imposing and powerful even from a distance, while a woman wearing white ancient-style robes with a vivid flower pinned in her hair appeared graceful and mysterious in the reflection...
A cold wind swept past. As Lin Wenhua shivered, he saw another enormous shadow appear in the lake. It looked like a giant snake
