"Boom!"
A tremendous crash came from within the flames. Even standing where he was, Su Bai felt the ground shudder beneath his feet, as though some heavy structure nearby had collapsed.
The spreading flames gradually receded, which also meant Little Fire had devoured all the filth he could consume.
The blue flame, whose origins remained a mystery, had lived by consuming filth even before gaining consciousness. As such, it burned only filth and had little effect on inanimate objects.
So after the blue flames faded, Su Bai still stood in the ruin-like Back Courtyard. Only now, it looked somewhat different from before the fire.
The change was not merely because Ghost Madam and the Old Steward, who had lingered in the Manor, had been completely consumed. The Pavilion built over the dried-up Pond had also collapsed entirely!

Still, Su Bai had not expected the Pavilion to fall over outright after Little Fire had eaten his fill.
"It wasn't very tasty." Little Fire returned to Su Bai's side in the form of a tiny flame and let out a reluctant burp. "The stuff I ate at that hotel was much tastier. The food here felt dry, and it wasn't even chewy."
Su Bai had no idea what consuming filth actually felt like, but judging by Little Fire's description, the difference between the filth in this Manor and that in the Lorimas Grand Hotel might have been like
