"It seems my dear little brother still doesn't quite trust me." The voice of "Su Xuan" sounded exaggeratedly disappointed, as though the sorrowful words Su Bai had heard earlier had been nothing more than an illusion.
"Why don't we practice? Try saying, 'Brother, come home early.' How about it?"
Su Bai fell silent at first. Those were the last words he had said to the Su Xuan he knew before his brother disappeared. Only after sensing that the Vengeful Ghost Puzzle inside him remained calm did Su Bai speak into the empty corridor before him. "Brother, come home early."
For a moment, Su Bai couldn't tell whether he was making a request of that Strange Creature or reminding his brother Su Xuan, whose whereabouts were unknown.
"All right." The voice of "Su Xuan" rang in his ear. "I'll come home early, and bring a little brother home tonight. I won't make Mom worry."
As for where "Su Xuan" would find a little brother to bring home, that seemed obvious enough.
"See? Today's task is complete."
"Spend the rest of your time enjoying this new environment. Until next time."
As though the Strange Creature pretending to be Su Xuan knew Su Bai wouldn't respond, there really was no further sound after those words.
The first day's task was already complete?
