The bus swayed as it drove through the mist. Outside the windows on either side, gray-white mist hung like a thick curtain, blocking every view and making it impossible to tell where they were headed. Occasionally, vague shadows swept past the windows, only to vanish as soon as anyone focused on them. Beneath the dim yellow lights, only Feng Yan's voice echoed through the bus. The others barely spoke, perhaps from exhaustion, perhaps from fear.
Feng Yan spoke calmly, but a barely perceptible tension edged his voice as he began recounting the upheaval that had struck Qingliu City not long ago.
"Regular people like us had no way of dealing with the eerie incidents in Qingliu City," he said, his gaze sweeping over the varied expressions before him. "In the end, the incidents were resolved by Special Ability Users brought in by the Relevant Authorities."
He paused briefly, as though weighing his words-or deliberately slowing down to let this startling information sink in.
"The 'special people' I mentioned are Special Ability Users. My position doesn't give me access to their true origins, but one thing is certain: every one of them possesses abilities that seem almost supernatural to Regular people, like heroes from mythology or superhumans from science fiction movies."
His voice echoed through the bus, sounding unusually clear amid the surrounding mist.

Feng Yan murmured, almost to himself, before turning back to the new passengers. "There may be more of them than we imagine, but very few are willing to work for the Relevant Authorities.
