"Big brother?"
Su Bai heard his own voice ring out, clear but a little timid. His small body began looking around uneasily, his gaze sweeping over the gray-white stone walls and black stone-tiled floor. He had clearly realized that everything around him was unfamiliar.
His younger self might have vaguely understood that the sudden change in his surroundings had something to do with the mirror, so he approached it again, raised his hand, and touched its cold surface once more.
This time, however, the mirror did not react at all. The ripples that had appeared before were completely gone. All it reflected were his bewildered eyes, his small, thin figure, and the cold, bare stone wall behind him.
"Big brother?" Little Su Bai called again, his voice low and uncertain. He did not yet understand what fear was, but instinct told him this was not "home."
Su Bai still could not control his body. He could only watch everything through his younger self's eyes, watching this old memory he had already forgotten.
Little Su Bai stumbled around the room, searching everywhere. At last, his gaze settled on the only door in the empty room, a tall one. He hurried over, stood on tiptoe, and stretched up to grasp the handle, which was a little too high for him.
The door was not locked.
With a soft creak, the door slowly opened before him, revealing a long, shadowy gap beyond.
He simply walked out.
Outside was a seemingly endless corridor, with the same gray-white stone walls and black stone-tiled floor. But this corridor was different from the room he had just left.
It was full of Dolls.
The Dolls stood motionless in rows along both sides of the corridor. They wore no clothes and had no facial features, hair, or skin.
