The Red Moon Society.
One of them had foreseen that, at some point in the future, the Red Moon that sustained all life in the world would fall, and the entire world would instantly perish.
The Strange Creature that delivered the prophecy proposed three paths-
The first was to turn to ash along with the destruction of the world.
The second was to abandon this world, seek help from the one on Fog Mountain, and open a passage to live in another world. But because another world could not accommodate so much of the Red Moon's Power, the once-mighty Strange Creatures would have to eke out an existence like that world's most ordinary, weakest life-forms, stripped of their power.
The third was to do everything possible to prevent the Red Moon from falling.
In the end, they chose the third path. Even if time in this world was reset over and over, they refused to relinquish their power, preferring to cling to existence this way.
They chose the area beneath the Human-Faced Forest as their laboratory and base. After absorbing power for years on end, the already dangerous Human-Faced Forest became a perilous place that even they dared not enter recklessly.
Although the merfolk, initially the most suitable test subjects, had been exhausted, they were fortunate enough to find humans from another world who, while less suitable, could still just barely travel through the Void Sea.
These humans were not as strong as the merfolk, nor did they possess the merfolk's unique powers, but what made humans special was their unpredictable potential.
The instant humans were immersed in the light of the Red Moon, their frail, powerless bodies could acquire special powers. Those powers grew far faster than those of the Strange Creatures that walked beneath the Red Moon.
