He Butan killed one of the church’s Genetic Warriors and warned them that the Eternal Alchemy Church and the Spiritual Cultivation Society would treat their large convoy as an enemy.

• Lin Yi, Liu Chuan, and Blind Cheng questioned Brad and the other foreigners about the Eternal Alchemy Church’s motives, while Bai Le argued that they should try peaceful contact.
• A Genetic Warrior arrived at the underground garage, ordered the convoy to leave, and revealed that Chiry Crystals implanted in his eyes let him gauge people’s strength.
• After Blind Cheng released him, the Genetic Warrior agreed to report Liu Chuan’s request to pass through, then left to take Brad and the others mining.

• Liu Chuan revealed that Gao Yue Xi had formed the Ascension Convoy and was asking about the Eternal Alchemy Church; Lin Yi, Liu Chuan, and Wang Meng concluded she meant to fight it, not cooperate.

The fight began with Ron revealing powerful fire, ice, and lightning abilities, leaving the group searching for a way to counter his speed.

• Liu Chuan agreed to help He Butan, and Blind Cheng and Lin Yi left the Bus to confront the foreigner blocking the Convoy.
• The foreigner recognized the Desire Mother Tree’s mark on Lin Yi and sent five modified aberration creatures to attack him, but Blind Cheng and Lin Yi quickly destroyed them.
• Brian and Julie recognized the foreigner as Ron, whom the Church had claimed was dead; Ron revealed that he had joined the Church and been transformed by the Lord of Eternal Truth.

Lin Yi, Blind Cheng, and He Butan fought Ron, an alchemically modified Sequence Five who could wield lightning, fire, and ice and resurrect in flames. As Ron’s fire surrounded them, He Butan revealed his [Living Nest] form and released strange eyeball creatures, leaving Blind Cheng unsure what was happening.

• He Butan identified Ron as a Sequence Five of the [Lightning Envoy] pathway whose fire and ice abilities came from alchemical modifications, then admitted that he also followed the [Monster] pathway alongside the [Daoist] pathway.
• Ron charged the group, and their combined Blood Prison, Void Chains, and Voidless Talisman restrained him briefly before his shield reflected Blind Cheng’s blade wave and he broke free.
• Lin Yi and Blind Cheng fought Ron, but Ron blocked their attacks and triggered a chain of explosions that overturned vehicles and scattered the spectators.
• He Butan explained that Ron could resurrect in nearby flames, so Lin Yi borrowed Blind Cheng’s Judge’s Writ ability and joined him in using black flames to separate the orange fire.

He Butan revealed his alchemical origins and explained the conflict between the Lord of Eternal Truth and the Desire Mother Tree, leaving Lin Yi to decide whether to trust him.

• He Butan’s living nest devoured the flames, but Ron resurrected from a burning vehicle and fled as lightning.
• Lin Yi and Blind Cheng demanded that He Butan explain what he knew, while Blind Cheng held a saber to his neck.

• He Butan told Lin Yi that Ron had attacked him because of the mark on his hand, then left on the Motorcycle.

Lin Yi’s convoy encountered an alchemy eagle and then a massive swarm of alchemy rats as it neared the Eternal Alchemy Church. Surrounded by swarms from the front and sides, the convoy tried to break through while Lin Yi, Blind Cheng, and Wang Meng prepared to fight from the roof.

• Liu Chuan sensed an aberration creature overhead, and Lin Yi identified it as an alchemy-modified eagle.
• Liu Chuan sensed another aberration, and Bai Le spotted a huge swarm of alchemy rats charging toward the convoy.
• Liu Chuan warned the vehicles behind them to speed up, while Blind Cheng carved a temporary gap in the swarm with his saber energy.
• Wu Yuan reported that more swarms were blocking the road and closing in from both sides, so Liu Chuan ordered the convoy to break through.
• Liu Chuan assigned the others to defend the vehicles, while Wang Meng, Lin Yi, and Blind Cheng climbed onto the roof to fight.
