Lin Yi fought through waves of Genetic Warriors while Gao Yue Xi and the others went to retrieve Ji Xiaoxiao's body. Deep underground, Lord Ron's allies planned to delay the group with stronger Transcendents and Aberration Creatures, while allowing them to reach the body and take research materials.

Lin Yi’s body served as the vessel for the Desire Mother Tree, which overwhelmed the City and devoured the phantom of the Lord of Eternal Truth. Lin Yi vanished beneath the ground, leaving Liu Chuan and the others outside the mist to debate how they could rescue him.

• A bishop ordered Lin Yi seized, but blood-red thorns erupted and killed the bishops, the pope, Victor, and the other people in the Magic Array.
• The Desire Mother Tree manifested through Lin Yi, shrouded the City in white mist, and dragged the Lord of Eternal Truth’s phantom down from the sky.
• The Desire Mother Tree swallowed the phantom, overtook the City with vines, and produced enormous fruits bearing different faces.

• A convoy camped by a lake spotted Lin Yi floating in the water, and Zhang Haitao rescued him.

After the Desire Mother Tree left him badly weakened, Lin Yi rode with Zhang Haitao’s Hometown Convoy and planned to develop his [Sacrificer] pathway while recovering. The convoy stopped at a village to search for supplies, where Lin Yi saw that Zhu Cheng looked just like Jiang Ya.
