Chapter Summaries

Lin Yi advanced to Sequence One, heard mysterious voices calling him to Cool City and learned that becoming a god might be more complicated than he had thought. He used the Wish Grail to travel to Gao Yue Xi, leaving the others hopeful that he could end the apocalypse.

• After Lin Yi's mysterious energy receded, he heard the Desire Mother Tree summon him to Cool City and other voices denounce the deities as false gods.
• Lin Yi's white hair returned as he manifested chaos and disorder, confirming his advancement to Sequence One.
• Lin Yi returned with Zhu Cheng and Shen Chuchu and told Shan Kui and the others that Gao Yue Xi had escaped and he needed to find her.
• The Elder President said he had heard the whispers too and urged Lin Yi to end the apocalypse if he attained godhood.
• Lin Yi asked He Butan for the Wish Grail, wished to be taken to Gao Yue Xi, and vanished as its golden light faded.
• He Butan and the others realized Lin Yi had taken the Wish Grail with him and laughed together, relieved that the crisis had passed.

Lin Yi used the Wish Grail to reach Gao Yue Xi and annihilated her and her companions with his Sequence One ability, creating the barren End's Land. He then wished to travel to Cool City, where he planned to confront the Desire Mother Tree and pursue godhood.

• Lin Yi appeared beside Gao Yue Xi in the Wilderness and seized her, revealing that he had advanced to Sequence One.
• Lin Yi unleashed Finale of the End, disabling the women’s abilities and causing Liu Man, Ji Xiaoxiao, and the others to crumble into ash.
• Gao Yue Xi cursed Lin Yi as her body disintegrated, and Lin Yi told her that her threats and lack of strength had sealed her fate.
• Lin Yi destroyed Gao Yue Xi’s remaining head, leaving the area as End's Land, a lifeless place where she could not resurrect.
• Lin Yi wished on the Wish Grail to go to Cool City so he could face the Desire Mother Tree and prepare to attain godhood.

Lin Yi returned to Cool City and visited his parents before entering the Underground Pit, as his emotions were fading with his rise toward godhood. There, he met Little Monk, who revealed that he had survived as a piece of data and regained control over [Data].

• Lin Yi arrived at the Underground Pit, ignored warnings from the Sequence Transcendents, and flew over it toward Sunshine Garden Community.
• Lin Yi saw Li Dahai leading the residents in chanting, and the stone stele lit up before Little Monk emerged from it.
• Li Dahai and Lin Xiujuan welcomed Lin Yi, but he felt indifferent toward them and asked his mother to make dumplings.
• Li Dahai sent the residents away, leaving Lin Yi alone with Little Monk.
• Little Monk told Lin Yi that the deities of his era had died, that he had survived as a piece of data, and that Li Dahai's believers had helped him regain control over [Data].

Lin Yi learned from the little monk that attaining godhood required possessing a Mystery-Type Sequence and killing a deity. The little monk let him pursue the Desire Mother Tree, but revealed that Lin Yi carried the aura of a false god, leaving him to investigate where it came from.

• Lin Yi discovered that the little monk possessed [Data] and listened as he described his long conflict with the Desire Mother Tree.
• The little monk explained that [Data] had analyzed Lin Yi and revealed he had returned because the Desire Mother Tree summoned him.
• Lin Yi asked how a Sequence One could attain godhood, and the little monk said he needed a Mystery-Type Sequence and had to kill a deity.
• The little monk said false gods lacked a true deity's strength and suggested Lin Yi could seek the Desire Mother Tree or kill him to attain godhood.
• The little monk told Lin Yi that he carried a faint aura of a false god, but said Lin Yi would have to discover where he had encountered one.

Lin Yi visited his parents, then returned to the cavern to speak with the Desire Mother Tree about attaining godhood. The Omniscient and Omnipotent Tathagata revealed that he still held her sealed and pressed her to answer Lin Yi’s questions.

• Lin Xiujuan served Lin Yi dumplings, while the little monk said he could not eat and identified himself as the Omniscient and Omnipotent Tathagata, sequence zero of the [Monk] sequence pathway.
• Lin Yi finished eating and left to investigate the Desire Mother Tree, telling his parents that ending the apocalypse would let them be together again.
• The Omniscient and Omnipotent Tathagata reassured Li Dahai and Lin Xiujuan that Lin Yi would not die easily, then followed him underground.
• Lin Yi flew to the TV Station Building and entered the cavern, where he saw the Desire Mother Tree’s true form.
• The Omniscient and Omnipotent Tathagata appeared beside Lin Yi, and the Desire Mother Tree recognized him and angrily accused him of deceiving her.
• The Omniscient and Omnipotent Tathagata told the Desire Mother Tree that Lin Yi had come to ask about attaining godhood and warned her not to let a false god contaminate her believer.

The Omniscient and Omnipotent Tathagata warned Lin Yi that the Desire Mother Tree wanted to use him to devour a False God, and urged him to sever their connection after becoming a god. Following the vine’s guidance, Lin Yi reached a familiar weird domain and came face-to-face with its towering deity.

• The Desire Mother Tree sent a fleshy vine into Lin Yi to guide him to a False God and asked him to deal with the threats outside once he became a god.
• The Omniscient and Omnipotent Tathagata revealed the Desire Mother Tree’s plan and warned Lin Yi to sever his connection with her, target False Gods, and avoid fighting the Old Gods.
• Lin Yi learned there might be hundreds or thousands of Old Gods, then decided to follow the vine and kill a False God to claim its vacant position.
• The vine led Lin Yi to the abandoned Chosen Principality Gathering Place and toward a weird domain he had once explored with Zhu Cheng.
• Lin Yi tore open the weird domain’s entrance and entered, where a towering figure emerged as the vine inside him began to writhe.

Lin Yi discovered that the Desire Mother Tree had used him and the false god to resurrect an avatar, which began consuming the world. Back in Cool City, Little Monk told Lin Yi that killing him and taking his place could grant Lin Yi the power to stop her.

• The Desire Mother Tree’s fleshy vine seized the false god, drained his energy, and grew into an avatar as the thorns on Lin Yi’s arm joined it.
• The Desire Mother Tree revealed that Lin Yi’s mark was another body of hers and that she had used him to escape her restraints.
• The Desire Mother Tree shattered the Weird Domain and spread across the land, consuming the mountain and threatening all life.
• Lin Yi failed to use the Wish Grail to become a deity, then used it to return to Cool City and warned Little Monk that the Desire Mother Tree had escaped.
• Little Monk explained that the avatar was still a false god and told Lin Yi to kill him and take his place to attain godhood.

Lin Yi became the Sequence Zero Faceless Lord after Little Monk sacrificed himself, then used his new power to destroy the Desire Mother Tree’s avatar and suppress False Gods and deity phantoms across the world. He reinforced the seal on the Desire Mother Tree, leaving her unable to escape.

• Little Monk told Lin Yi to become a god and drive out the Old Gods, then sacrificed himself and [Data] so Lin Yi could ascend.
• Lin Yi became the Faceless Lord, losing his human form and gaining the power to create Void Masks and turn places into End’s Land.
• Lin Yi annihilated the Desire Mother Tree’s avatar as it approached Cool City, then used Void Masks and End’s Land to suppress False Gods and deity phantoms across the world.
• Lin Yi confronted the Desire Mother Tree and revealed his identity, prompting her to realize he was the one who had just become a god.
• Lin Yi bound the Desire Mother Tree with chains from the Void Masks, reinforcing her seal and telling her that she would remain imprisoned as long as he lived.

Lin Yi eliminated the Aberration Creatures and ended the apocalypse, then resurrected Jiang Ya and warned the Elder President that stronger beings were threatening their world. He left to hold those beings back and urged everyone to stay alive.

• Lin Yi sealed the Underground Pit away from Cool City and used the Void Mask to eliminate the Aberration Creatures across the world.
• Liu Chuan and the others celebrated the end of the apocalypse, while Zhu Cheng and the Elder President sensed Lin Yi nearby but could barely perceive his divine form.
• Lin Yi told the Elder President that he had eliminated the False Gods and that outside gods would not approach unless he died.
• Lin Yi gave the Wish Grail to the Elder President and asked him to have He Butan prepare for advancement because stronger beings were watching their world.

After the apocalypse, Lin Yi guarded the world from the Cosmic Ocean while He Butan and Bai Le attained godhood and joined him. Cool City became a peaceful home for survivors, who honored the three human deities as their guardians.

• Zhu Cheng and the others settled in Cool City, where Liu Chuan opened a shop and Wang Meng opened a gym.
• With the Elder President's help, He Butan advanced to Sequence Zero, learned that Lin Yi was guarding the world, and went outside to join him.
• Lin Yi told He Butan about an old god near the Sun and the dangers beyond the world, then the two fought approaching false gods.
• A year later, Bai Le became the God of Machines and rushed outside the world after learning that Lin Yi and He Butan were there.
• In the following years, survivors' lives improved, and people in Cool City prayed at statues of Lin Yi, He Butan, and Bai Le.
