After killing Hope Convoy members who tried to steal supplies, Lin Yi advanced to the [Fallen Death Row Inmate] Sequence and gained the ability to become an Aberration. Liu Chuan then warned the convoy that Tier Three Rain Men were approaching, and the fleeing vehicles descended into chaos.

• Ji Qingcang told Lin Yi that Hope Convoy members had tried to steal their supplies while the others fought the Aberration Symbiote.
• Lin Yi killed the injured thieves and advanced from [Criminal] to [Fallen Death Row Inmate], gaining the [Fallen Act] ability.
• Liu Chuan sensed six Aberrations approaching the service station and ordered everyone to drive onto the highway without stopping.
• The Survival Rules Convoy followed Liu Chuan, while panicked Hope Convoy members cut off other vehicles as they tried to escape.

Lin Yi and the Survival Rules Convoy drove through the rain while Aberrations pursued them, then stopped outside Grass Slope Village to refuel and decide whether to take in the Hope Convoy. The Hope Convoy was allowed to follow, but its members hesitated when Liu Chuan explained that joining meant relying on themselves.

• Lin Yi enhanced the Soul-Devouring Saw and food while keeping his [Enhancement] Sequence secret from the convoy.
• Liu Chuan announced that the convoy would stop outside Grass Slope Village, where only one of the three pursuing Aberrations remained.

Lin Yi realized he could expand his use of enhancement to protective gear and small weapons, then revealed he had advanced to Sequence Eight as the convoy continued on.

They stopped near a town that Ji Qingcang suspected held several other convoys, and Liu Chuan decided to enter and seek supplies.

• Lin Yi enhanced his clothes, pants, shoes, and other equipment, then began enhancing them again to see how long ordinary items took to become Anomalous Objects.
• The rain intensified until the convoy crossed the border into Hunan Province, where heat and yellow sand abruptly replaced the storm.

Lin Yi and the Survival Rules Convoy reached Peace Town, where locals demanded supplies and threatened Liu Chuan. After Lin Yi killed the man holding a machete, Liu Dashuai arrived with a handgun, but Ji Qingcang transformed into a bear to distract him while someone seized the weapon, leaving Liu Dashuai pleading for mercy.

• Peace Town's guards demanded thirty percent of the convoy's supplies and threatened Liu Chuan when he asked to speak with their leader.

• Lin Yi disarmed Liu Dashuai and learned that the town's former Sequence Transcendent had been killed by a woman whose motorcycle fired lasers.
• Liu Dashuai told Liu Chuan that more than five thousand people lived in Peace Town and that Sandworms hid beneath the sand around them.

In Peace Town, Wen Wan demanded supplies from Lin Yi’s convoy, but Lin Yi shot her in the shoulder after she threatened him. The Survival Rules Convoy settled at the hospital for a day, guarded its food, and prepared to continue north.

After a man warned Lin Yi and Ji Qingcang that morning sandstorms concealed Sandworms, Lin Yi learned Liu Dashuai had withheld the danger and decided to kill him. Lin Yi entered the bank to confront Liu Dashuai, while Wen Wan’s former manager offered to help him in exchange for killing the mayor.

• A bespectacled man warned Lin Yi and Ji Qingcang that morning sandstorms carried Sandworms and revealed that Wen Wan and Liu Dashuai had kept the danger secret.

The Survival Rules Convoy crossed a sandstorm filled with Sandworms before learning that the Man-Dragon Aberration was approaching. Lin Yi and his companions prepared to fight as the immense creature came into view.

• Liu Chuan led the convoy out of Peace Town, and thousands of people traveled with it.
• A sudden sandstorm battered the convoy and covered the vehicles with sesame-sized Sandworms, but the group passed through without stopping.
• After the convoy halted to rest, Crippled Dragon's underling warned Lin Yi and Liu Chuan that the Man-Dragon blocked the road ahead.
• Liu Chuan sensed an Aberration approaching, and Lin Yi ordered Ji Qingcang to turn the convoy around and retreat.
• Ji Qingcang fired a shot to restore order while Lin Yi and four companions stayed behind as the Man-Dragon crawled toward them.

Lin Yi and his companions fought the Aberration Man-Dragon, only for it to resurrect in a stronger second phase. Liu Chuan revealed it could not be killed and warned that Lin Yi could defeat it only one more time before it evolved into a Tier Three Aberration.

• Wang Meng, Lin Yi, the Shen sisters, and Liu Chuan prepared to face the charging Aberration Man-Dragon.
• Lin Yi and the others dismantled the Man-Dragon while Wang Meng pinned it down and tore its body in two.

The convoy resumed its journey with fewer members, while the Shen sisters’ conversation revealed that Shen Qingqing had a volatile second personality distrustful of Lin Yi.

• Lin Yi told Liu Chuan that his new Sequence Eight ability let him transform into an Aberration, and Liu Chuan realized he could do so only ten times before becoming one permanently.

• Lin Yi accepted food from Zhang Wei and the other men from Crippled Dragon's group, who said they needed to find gasoline.

Liu Chuan explained the advancement requirements for the Sequence Transcendents and warned Lin Yi that reaching Sequence Seven required killing a Sequence Eight [Blade-for-Hire]. Lin Yi also decided to stop providing communal meals for ungrateful convoy members and moved his food supplies to Wang Meng’s truck.

• Liu Chuan explained that Ji Qingcang, Wang Meng, Shen Qingqing, and Shen Chuchu each had to follow their Sequence’s requirements to advance, and Ji Qingcang realized he could avoid losing his emotions by not advancing.
• Liu Chuan told Lin Yi that the [Criminal] and [Blade-for-Hire] pathways were enemies and that Lin Yi had to kill someone at Sequence Eight on the [Blade-for-Hire] pathway to reach Sequence Seven.
• Lin Yi and Liu Chuan agreed they could not openly ask other convoy leaders about [Blade-for-Hire] Transcendents without exposing Lin Yi’s Sequence.
