Rhode turned around and saw three men wearing top hats.

By now, the three men had reached Rhode.

Genn turned and gestured to the two men behind him. "Allow me to introduce Major General Falloden."

The middle-aged officer saluted Rhode.

"And this is Lord Kandray. Despite his youth, he is already a High Magic User."

The young mage also nodded slightly in greeting.

Yet Rhode distinctly caught a trace of disdain on this mage Kandray's face. There even seemed to be some resentment.

What's going on? I've never met this mage before. Surely I couldn't have done anything to offend him?
