"The Twilight Lord has unleashed his strongest spell!"
When Aewolan unleashed his Frost Spell, the Twilight's Hammer cultists all raised their heads and watched with eager anticipation.
They knew that Aewolan excelled at water elemental magic. When he attacked with ice, its power was almost terrifying.
Although the others had never seen it before, they could still sense how formidable this ice attack was. Even from over a hundred meters away, they felt its bone-chilling cold.
Although the principles behind his ice spell differ from our mage spells, it seems even more powerful.
Marin couldn't help thinking this as he watched.
In truth, Aewolan's elemental spells differed from both shaman and mage spells.
Mages used their mental power to draw upon arcane energy, then shaped it into a particular form-most commonly an element-to exert its power directly;
Shamans used their mental power to petition the elements, establishing communication with them and enlisting their aid to generate energy;
Aewolan, however, dispensed with communication altogether. He used his powerful mana to force the elements to gather in his hands, forming the elemental powers of wind, fire, earth, and water.
When all three cast an ice spell, a shaman hurled actual ice and water elements borrowed from nature, a mage hurled a frostbolt simulated with arcane energy, and an elemental Ascendant hurled energy seized from the elements.
Of course, given Marin's knowledge, simply recognizing that these were different kinds of ice spells was already impressive. He had no way of distinguishing them so precisely.
By now, Aewolan's long, thick stream of bitter frost had struck the multicolored wall of light Rhode had summoned.
Mage Rhode is so powerful. Even if this Twilight Lord's ice spell is formidable, he should be able to block it, right? Marin thought.
But what happened next left him
