"First meeting. I am..." Li Chen paused, considering what identity he should give himself. "The... chief god of the Origin Civilization. You angels attempted to spy on my civilization. All of you have now been brought to justice, Keisha included."
Hexi fell silent for a beat. Then she spoke.
"What do you want?"
"All of the Angel Civilization's scientific knowledge, technology, and theories." Although Li Chen had said that the civilizations of this world depended on the dark plane and had developed lopsided technology, they were not entirely without merit. "Don't try to deceive me, hold anything back, or give me false information."
Hexi did not answer immediately.
She was pretending to think to buy time. Had he really captured Keisha? That fringe galaxy had no dark plane, so she had no idea what was happening inside it.
He might simply have ambushed the Heavenly Blade and come to bluff her, betting that she would not dare take the gamble.
Hexi leaned toward the latter possibility. At least, she hoped it was the latter.
Li Chen saw through her little trick. He casually transmuted a recliner and sat down, utterly unruffled. "A friendly reminder: the longer you stall, the higher the price you angels will have to pay. To tell you the truth, I've sent all of them into the laboratory for unrestricted experimentation."
The two continued their standoff. Seeing how confidently he sat there, Hexi feared that Keisha really had fallen into his hands.
"Seven days. I'll come to the fringe galaxy. We exchange the captives for the goods simultaneously."
In the end, Hexi was the first to buckle under the pressure. Those things were important, but Keisha was even more important to the Angel Civilization.
"Since you've wasted my precious time, you'll now have to pay half of
