That meanie, her lord, had wanted her to share her surname instead.
The Three-Eyed Golden Lion refused. How could Gu Qiu'er sound as nice as Di Qiu'er?
Of course, the most important reason was that she wanted to share Little Bing'er's surname. That would bring the two of them closer, too.
She would go snuggle with Little Bing'er later.

Watching the adorable big kitty come bounding over, pitter-patter, the Ice Phoenix set down her pen.
She said, somewhat helplessly:
"Big Sister Qiu, you're late for class again. Don't think you can buy me off with a few pieces of fruit.
I'll give you another tutoring session tonight.
If you don't study properly, you'll turn into a big dummy, you know~"
Hearing this, the Three-Eyed Golden Lion's little ears, which had been standing upright, instantly drooped.
Just hearing the word "study" made her head feel twice as big.
The Three-Eyed Golden Lion simply couldn't understand why humans needed to learn so much.
And besides, they were soul beasts, so why did they have to learn all this human stuff, too?!
At the thought of having to study all that horrendously complicated material tonight,
the Three-Eyed Golden Lion felt her entire life as a beast turn bleak.
She flopped down on her belly and said pitifully:
"Nooo, Little Bing'er, I don't wanna study. I wanna play that game you played with me last time... boo-hoo~"
As she spoke, she even rolled around on the ground, trying to charm her way out with cuteness.
And honestly, that pitiful look, paired with her whimpering, babyish voice, really was adorable.
Provided, of course, that one ignored her former fondness for eating brains.
